Subject Matter Expert: Michelle Weiss

Houston, Texas. Ms. Weiss began her career in the security industry while in Graduate School at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Ms. Weiss received a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern. At the same time, Ms. Weiss began assisting researchers and clinicians in a laboratory studying major psychiatric disorders forming an interest in the correlation between criminology, genetics, and psychopathology. Ms. Weiss co-authored scientific articles on the subjects of major psychiatric disorders while working at McLean Psychiatric Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts.

Ms. Weiss co-founded a private security firm in 1997. The firm EPS Security and Life Safety Systems, Inc. was sold to Tyco International in 2002. During this time Ms. Weiss continued her education in both business and science earning an MBA from Rice University. Ms. Weiss continued to focus on the sciences as she developed a focus on biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry business strategy and merger and acquisition activity and life-science based technology transfer. Ms. Weiss continued her studies at the graduate level in the area of molecular biology at the University of Houston. At the University of Houston, Ms. Weiss continued to co-author scientific works in the area of micro RNA. While pursuing science-based studies, Ms. Weiss was able to obtain “wet lab” experience at both Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Houston. 

Ms. Weiss's focus with McCann Global is in research and due diligence. She combines her criminal studies, scientific research, and extensive business experience to find connections in complex data and information. Ms. Weiss is able to add unique insight in areas relating to scientific intellectual property, transactional due diligence, and risk/reward analysis.

Subject Matter Expert: Daniel Weiss

Mr. Weiss began his career in the security industry while in Graduate School at Northeastern University, where he worked at a maximum security prison in Massachusetts, Walpole State Prison. Mr. Weiss left the public sector and entered the private security sector. During the past 15 years, Mr. Weiss has worked for Wells Fargo, Chubb, Alarmex, and has started three successful private sector security firms EPS Security, GCS, and Infrastruct Security. Mr. Weiss has been interviewed as a subject matter expert on critical infrastructure security for ABC, NBC, CBS and for Inc Magazine. Mr. Weiss has also been a subject matter expert for chemical security for Security Director News, SDM, and Security System News.

Mr. Weiss brings extensive experience as a security professional in the area of loss prevention, electronic security system design, and surveillance. As an industry entrepreneur, Mr. Weiss brings his wealth of knowledge in business with extensive experience in due diligence, private equity and venture capital, and financial controls. Mr. Weiss’ background supports the unique balance between business and former law enforcement that is a unique hallmark of McCann Global.

As a licensed security manager in the State of Texas, Mr. Weiss has been directly responsible for hundreds of security assessments, system designs, and installations for Fortune 1000 companies and government agencies. In addition, Mr. Weiss has had the pleasure of serving hundreds of middle market commercial, industrial, and retail clients.
